Breeding

Breeding guidelines

  • Breeding may occur anytime of the year.
  • All wolves male or female may only have one litter per year.
  • In order to have a successful litter please ensure you’ve completed the following:
    • Be at least 1 year of age
(NOTE: Yearlings becoming pregnany will be a high risk pregnancy! Resulting in smaller litters, higher risk of stillborns & risk to the mother! 2 years is the minimum for healthy litters!)
    • Complete 4-5 ic threads with the pair in question (unless breeding is forced) Pack meetings and RE’s do not count.

    Yearling litter health rolls

    • Once completed & approved staff will roll for the number of pups you are expecting! All wolves have the chance at having 1-4 pups per litter. Which will be determined rolling a 4 sided die
    • Each pup will get a roll to determine if they are stillborn, having a 50/50 chance at being stillborn
    • Each surviving pup will then get a roll for 10% abnormality risk using a 10 sided die, only if the die lands on 1 do they have an abnormality
    • Each pup with an abnormality will then get a roll for severity using a 5 sided die 1= low, 5= bad

2 years + litter health rolls

    • Once completed & approved staff will roll for the number of pups you are expecting! All wolves have the chance at having 1-4 pups per litter. Which will be determined rolling a 4 sided die
    • Each pup will then get a roll for 10% abnormality risk using a 10 sided die, only if the die lands on 1 do they have an abnormality
    • Each pup with an abnormality will then get a roll for severity using a 3 sided die 1= low, 3= mild

    Puppies!

    • Size possibilites are to be chosen by adopters, however must remain within the range of the parents. (ie; medium female & xl male, may have pups medium, large or xl)
    • While there are no strict stipulations on appearance and we encourage wiggle room, pups must still resemble their parents to some extent (color, mutations, etc) or they will be denied upon audition.
    • Pups are to inherit affinities from their parents, choosing one or the other.
    • Female wolves are pregnant for 2 and a half months.
    • Pups MUST have players by the time they are ready to be played (4 weeks old) any pups without players are considered to have died, cause may be determined by parents.

    Puppy Development

    • Birth: Pups are born blind and deaf with limited motor capacities and are limited to a slow crawl. They have little, if any sense of smell. Pups are unable to control their own body temperature and require constant care from their mothers.
    • 2 weeks: Eyes open, vision is poor, begin to hear, pups can start eating small pieces of regurgitated meat, pups begin to stand, walk, growl & chew.
    • 3 weeks: Begin appearing near the entrance of the den, begin to play. Ears begin to raise and hearing improves significantly. Eyes are fully developed.
    • 4 weeks (pups can be played): Weigh 5-6 lbs, ears are erect, disproportionately large feet and head; high-pitched howls are gaining strength; mother may go off for hours on end to hunt; dominance and play fighting begin.
