T  his place felt strange to him and he didn't like that he couldn't see where the water began or end, he could only scent its murk and hear the trickles here. A ripple, a bubble, a splash. Being hungry and unsure what else to do, he continued forwards, and before he was aware of it, he was in waters to his knees, with water all around him. Having no footprints to look at in the dark murk, he couldn't even tell which way he had come, and the water claimed all scents as its own, bathing them, cleansing them in its own dark and fertile mud. Green things everywhere paid tribute to it.

A ripple near him caught his attention and he saw a flash of something light and silvery, something that could only be a nice lunch to his rumbling tummy. His ears perked on his head, standing attention like soldiers catching sight of their king. He readied his posture and tail for pounching, searching the water for more, willing his desire to part the waters like so much dirt and reveal a prize of a fresh, flopping fish. No such thing happened, of course, but he still tried.

Something was happening though, and he heightened his senses to determine what it was, this time willing his own heartbeat and breath to stop to absorb all and determine the new thing that had happened. It was quiet again, though, for the space of a few heartbeats. Then it happened again. It was a sound. A chirping thing, repetitious but with slight variance. If humans were real, one might hear the melody of a spaceship laser firing on an alien ship, pew pew pew. But he had no such knowledge, and it was new to him. It sounded little. Anything little could be eaten, therefore, it was simply his next undiscovered meal, calling for him.

He answered it, crouching further as instinct demanded and submersing more of himself into the water as he went. The swamp got deeper, to the top of his back now, and the furthest part of his brain began to get worried about this swimming thing, but he didn't want to swim, and treaded water instead, as far as he could tread. The sounds were near now, and his brain registered the sounds as something like many baby birds. He couldn't quite see them, though, had trouble picking them out against a backdrop of so many other camouflaged things. But he could determine a very large, very big log that was not a log that blinked, with spikes atop its back and large fangs that lined its mouth like a necklace promising un-life.

Fear.

Fear

Fear!

His legs were working backwards on his own, scrambling to get him away from this thing with very, very large teeth, and many more than himself.

OOC: Free for anyone! The creature is a bunch of alligator babies and a fully grown alligator all in close proximity.

Alligator!

A female alligator lurks the depths of the swamps, she is strong and weathered from many foes faced. Years of experience adorn her body in the fashion of scars & missing flesh, and she's highly protective of her young. Because of Olu's close proximity, she lunges, jaws snapping for his front aiming for his face, chest & throat.

She does 10 damage to Olu via our rolling system! Grazing his chest, will he run or fight? Perhaps someone will come to aid him??

Hydrangea's wet paws dragged through the swamp.  She had been travelling.all.over, trying to avoid any Mundane packs, or worse, The Order.  Though she had not intended to end up in the Swamp, but it was one of the best places to go and cover one's tracks and scent.  And that was when she heard a lpud snap and somethinf scrambling in the water.

She began to sneak through, staying in the shallows of the swamp water bed, and doing her best not to lose her footing.  She quickly realized however, that this sound was going to take her deeper into the swamp.water than she would like.  Before then though, she managed to see the he-wolf as he started to try to get away from the alligator.

She felt her heart begin to.pound as her ears were now shot forward in high alert.  She watched as the Alligator slashed the wolves chest as he retreated.  Her following actions she was not sure how or why she managed it.  She let out a howl and then snarled as she ran at the Alligator.  Before she got too deep she leaped to get on its back and attempted to sink her teeth into its neck.

Special note that Aligator's post was not completed until 10/28/2019

---

Olu's face felt warm and sticky and hurty as hell itself opened up before his eyes, and hell was made of teeth and a throat big enough to drown in. It bit him, and it hurt. He cried aloud in pain, not realizing that his cry was so escallated in panic that it came out in a shrill, hoarse scream, one of the last sounds a canine makes before its life is snuffed out violently. He saw red, and he blinked and backpedaled as fast as he could go. Blood dripped into his eyes, and his face streamed with thick ribbons of crimson like a Andy Warhol ketchup painting, but canine blood didn't coagulate as fast as humans did, and it had no intention of closing in the next half hour. The punctures looked far worse than they were, but drawing blood from something that lived in bacteria-infested water didn't bode well, either.

His feet hit a pulpy mound of sand at last, a tiny island a few paws wide, and he managed to wheel around on it and run farther away forwards, splashing again as he waded into deeper waters towards what he hoped was the shore, but most definitely away from the alligator. His heart tried to beat its way outside of his chest.

He thought to himself to howl for help, but he saw that he wasn't alone, now, so he tried to stay out of the way and watch, frightened, unsure of what else to do, and unwilling to leave this new wolf to the fate he was once in of being alone with a predator with far more teeth. His wet tail shivered, curled under his legs in fear as far as it would go.

He saw how small the new wolf was compared to the alligator and he worried. He lifted his head and howled for help. It was the only smart move he could think of.

Alligator!

The hard skin on the alligators back makes it difficult for Hydrangea to pierce with her teeth! She thrashes, whipping her body from side to side to try and shake the wolf from her back, in the meantime her jaws are snapping aiming to grab any flesh she can. She successfully hits hydrangea, throwing the wolf from her backside as she turns back onto Olu charging after him with jaws wide....

She had done 20 damage to each character, however with Hydra's passive 15 damage was taken off, resulting in only 5! The details of your injuries are up to you

Hydrangea let out a pained yelp as the alligator was able to twist just enough to grab the she-wolf by her paw/foreleg and yank her off, thankfully not doing too much damage to the paw due to the she-wolf's passive ability, otherwise her paw would likely had had a break all the way to the elbow. Her body slammed into the water where the Alligator had thrown her angrily. Not that she could blame it, no one liked being attacked. But sadly, she had not succeeded in distracting the creature from its initial prey and it was heading for the other wolf again already. "RUN, YOU FOOL!" she yells at him as she does her best to get up on her other three legs and manage to stay standing in the swamp water.

"ENERGY BOLT!" she shouted, her eyes staring intently at the alligator as she used one of her abilities. She wasn't going to let this wolf get hurt anymore than he already was. But that was when she noticed she had been to late and he'd been hit, but she attempted to hurt it none the less. She hoped her internal damage to the creature would at least make it turn away from him. Hydra could afford to take a few hits from this thing, she had defenses, but that other wolf looked like every attack was definitely dealing a heavy blow to him.

"Energy Bolt
STRENGTH ● ● ○ ○ ○
Energy bolt, she can manipulate energy into a bolt that shoots into her target and inflicts internal damage rather than external."

Olu was surprised when he heard the sound of something behind him, and it seemed impossible that the Alligator could catch up. He had thought he was plenty far away, but the scaly reptile could really cover a surprising amount of ground for something that looked as inert and lazy as a floating log. He had a new sense of fear, and he trembled, and tried to run faster, but he felt the uneven, serrated fangs of the beast in his backside and tail. He had too much adrenaline to feel the full bite of the pain, but he knew it hurt, and that it would hurt more in the morning. He ran faster.

He wasn't sure what to do and had never been put into a situation as dire as this one. When the kind stranger shouted at him to run away, his eyes widened in fear. He could not. He wouldn't leave someone else to his fate. "I can't leave you to die in my place!", he shouted back at her. It sounded like such a silly thing to say. He just wanted to laze about and take naps.

The moments ticked by in a haze of painful slowness and he came to realize that his saviour was going to use some sort of power. He hoped it would work. No, wait. It wouldn't work. Shit! He'd forgotten again! He made a mad dash away from Hydrangea and away from the Alligator so that he was more than 50 ft away from her.

He realized that he could help her next time. "Do it again, I'll help!", and he concentrated his powers on aiding Hydrangea's Energy Bolt the next time that she fired it.

Enhance
STRENGTH    ● ● ● ○ ○
When standing within 100 ft of another character, when this power is consciously activated, it boosts the effects of any one consciously selected active or passive spell of that character. (E.g., the user has to know the boost-ee and their power).
Boosted horse/mundane spells will always act in a way that is not intended though the same results will always be repeated.
However, when standing within 50 ft of said character, the Nullification spell begins to interfere and dampen the Enhance effects. When standing within 10 ft of said character, Enhance is completely nullified.

He remembered the Alligator, too, so he tried to make himself small, curling himself inwards and low to the ground, which was also the universal symbol for "I give up!" and submitting without actually exposing your jugular.

Character vs Character Round 2 for --- Right to live

HP: 70

Attacks: --
Defenses: (1) runs away from Alligator (2) makes himself small (3) tries to tell the Alligator in body language that he submits
Injuries: Punctures to face, lacerations to butt and tail
Special Notes: Olu is 50 ft from Hydrangea, so Nullify will not cancel her power
Special Notes: Olu is using his power, Enhance, on Hydrangea's NEXT Energy Bolt (not the one she used in the post above)

Accuracy roll result:
Damage roll result:

@Hydrangea Now that Olu knows about Energy Bolt, he wants to use his power "Enhance". However, Hydrangea is a Mundane wolf and this means that his power has an additional, strange effect. It can be anything that you like, but it should not be major, and it should be consistent across all uses of that one power when combined with Olu's Enhance
Olu's passive power, Nullify, reduces all powers within 50ft. At 10ft, extreme reduction. Additionally, horse/mundane powers act strangely, but repeatably.

Alligator!

The energy bolt hits her! And in a flurry of annoyance she rushes toward Hydrangea, however fails to snag the wolf with her powerful jaws.

The alligator has missed!
