The world had breathed a restless sigh of relief, as permafrost melted to soak the soils of the earth. The iridescence of midday was hot upon the wanderer’s backside, his mottled frame bleached by years of shoreline sunlight. Pallid audits flicked upon the curvature of the man’s helm, attentive as lissom limbs carried him across the expanse of the Bay. Sinew twitched beneath his flesh as he journeyed forth, toes lovingly folding into the dampened sand that lingered upon the fibers of his haircoat. Virile breast filled with deep inhale as the beast calmed internal nerves that quivered betwixt the bones of his rib-cage; born to the ocean’s grasp, he was never one to wander far from the shores. Yet as Spring whispered quiet allurements, an ache in the depths of his belly seemed to grow and the fatty salmon from his seaside home could no longer ebb the hunger that sought to crawl up the confines of his throat.

Silently the vagabond loped along, footfall deafened by the sand beneath his architecture. Seafoam eyes rolled within the depths of their sockets, bright and alive against the ivory of his features, his gaze sweeping across the tides that lapped at the shore. Droplets of liquid clung to his vestments, scintillating like early morning dew drops beneath the warmth of the sun. His intention was to move with quick precision across the landmark he ventured, his destination the valley to satiate primordial needs. Momentarily he found himself uncharacteristically lost in thought, beckoned by the siren song of the waves that coursed beside him.

Ears flicked on the white female's head as she walked along the shore line. Waves crashing over her feet as she smiled down at the water. Something told her to come here, to see the ocean again. It was home to her, at least being near the ocean. Rivers and lakes were great but nothing beat the ocean. Maybe she had picked that up from her mother, but she didnt even know. She knew nothing about the mysterious female, pink eyes still were watching the water. It calmed her down, made her less of a nervous wreck then normal. One day she would be normal, or at least less of a coward. Taking a deep breath of the ocean air she smiled some as she turned her head up towards the sky. Soon after she shook her head and took off running, a smile was spread across the females face as she bolted down the shore line.

As she ran down the shore she had momentarily closed her eyes, and in that moment she began to stop thinking about the pain that was running up her leg. It was her left paw, it was bothering her. But she wanted to run on th beach, feel the cool ocean water splashing up on her. As she went to step down again she let out a loud yelp, looking down at her paw she whined some. Ears were pinned back as she stood there holding her paw up slightly. Pink eyes looked towards the water as she giggled some. Slowly she made her way into the ocean, a chill ran down her spine as she entered the water. Soon it was up to her chest and before she knew it, the white female was diving under the water. It felt so good to be in the ocea, it was by far her favorite place to be. Soon kali surfaced, shaking her head of the water she looked around. No one was around, at least not that she could see at the moment.

It wasnt until she had dove back under the water and had resurfaced that she seen the wolf walking along the shore. She quickly dunked herself back under the water to where just the top half of her head was peeking out of the water. Great, now what she thought as she slowly made her way to the shore to where she could touch.

The solemn whitecaps of his ears swept upwards upon the curve of his helm - attentive as the tides shifted with life. Dark obsidian lashes flicked, gathering information from the terrain he traversed, pulled from the recesses of his mind that had uncharacteristically captured his thoughts. Muscles quivered through the man’s withers as travellers' limbs sojourned in their hasty pilgrimage across the cold, vast expanse of sand and open landscape. He had been so unaware of what was going on around him - so much so he had not noticed the woman cloaked in white, who bathed in the great salt of the sea.

Swarthy lips shuddered with the silence that sealed them, as nostrils trembled to release plumes of heat that licked at the edges of angular cheekbones. Momentarily he observed the maiden, once again pulled into a torrent of internal reflection of the soul. Singular audit would slip backwards as if distracted, the crisp ocean air combing through the course, sun-bleached essence of his garments; it was a reminder of his home and birthright, a place of safety was all water, and so his journey away from it coiled in the depths of his breast. He was but a vagabond of solidarity, born alone and left alone - fleetingly toes pressed firmly into the granules of earth beneath his erect architecture, driven by a force which beckoned him to continue on a forsaken path.

“What lurks in those eyes of yours, I wouldn’t be afraid to speak it. Take care, lad.”

An echo of a memory from the man of the north, who had briefly visited his seafaring home. Briefly he pondered, still quiet as he stood upon the shoreline. What had he meant? Those words had haunted his slumber and waking moments. Seafoam eyes rolled within the great depths of his ivory mask, finding the stark coral of the woman’s own gaze. Something within his being trembled, unaccustomed to consorting with others. Merlin would clear his throat softly against the hush of the sea wind and lapping tides, baritone a deep quake within the recesses of his breast, "Um.." softly, he began, "Hello."

Kali gasped slightly as she heard the male's voice, Oh just great, he had noticed her. But then again who wouldnt be able to notice her? She was a bright white wolf that was in the water, which didnt hide her at all. Ears were still pinned back against her head as she kept her self still lowered in the water as she slowly made her way out of the water. Now the next step was to get herself out of the water and some how in a safe place where she couldnt get hurt. But then again this wolf didnt seem like he was going to hurt her. Pink eyes never left the male as she crawled out of the water with her tail quickly tucked between her legs. As she walked out, she kept her left paw held up slightly. It still hurt from earlier, which she should have known better.

Kali was fully now out of the water and slowly creeping along the shore with her eyes locked onto the male. It wasnt to long before she stumbled over a log that she didnt see and tumbled forward. Just as she hit the ground, the female let out a loud yelp as she landed right on her face as well as got her paw stuck under her. The female laid there for a moment gathering herself, she was so stupid how could she let herself get so distracted? Ody had taught her better but then again he didnt really teach her much. Other then she was nothing more then some blood bag. She let out a whine as she thought about the male again. Why did she miss him so much? He didnt care about her, he wouldnt ever be back to find her. Kalipso needed to forget about the male but it was hard since he was all that she knew other then her father and brother.

Part of kali just wanted to curl up in a little ball and just disappear but that wasnt going to happen. She was stuck here, even more so now since she was face first in the sand. Lifting her head up she pulled her paw out from under her and licked it slightly. It was sore even more so now. Then she relized that she wasnt alone and turned her head to see the male.

Young seafarers' greetings had gone unanswered - the soft hum of his vocal chords snuffed by the waves that crashed against the shoreline that bridged such a fateful meeting. It was a bitter sting as cold as an arctic tempest which washed over him, the cold wind continuing to blunder the soft hues of earthen, sun-bleached vestments. A momentary lapse in confidence caused toes to shuffle, limbs shifting him away from the ocean which called him home. Perhaps it had been a mistake to open his mouth, perhaps he was forsaken to a lonely road less travelled…

A teasing bewilderment caused him to pause in his movements; quietly the vagabond would regard the achromatic sea nymph as she emerged from the depths of the tides. A tucked tail and lowered body posture - brows furrowed just so upon his visage, a fleeting moment of internal thought leaking through his calm veneer. Was she scared? of him? Pallid ears swiveled as the fragile maiden stumbled across the shoreline, tenderly nursing her left paw. Was she hurt? Shoulders rolled upon the man’s backside as his tail brushed lovingly against the shifting sands beneath him, paws carried him a few paces towards the woman but would maintain a distance that allowed her to feel comfortable with his presence. He was intrigued, and yet also perturbed by her general health.

"My apologies." salted air ruffled the fine hair fibers that adorned his angular cheeks. "I did not mean to frighten you." moss colored nostrils quivered as he inhaled the freshness of the world around him, pondering how he could remedy the situation he had caused. "M- my name is," momentarily the rumble within the depths of his breast hushed, halted by consternation before heat would dare to curl round’ swarthy weather-worn lips. "Merlin. My name is merlin. Are you okay, miss?" He dared not move closer to the sea nymph.

Bright pink eyes stared at the large male that moved even slightly closer to her. Kali's entire body tensed up as she watched him with careful eyes. She didnt know what to do, she was at a loss at the moment. Ears flicked back and forth as she laid there on the ground just looking at the male. It was when he spoke that she flinched slightly and shyed herself down even closer to the ground. Wait. He was applogizing? why was he doing that? It was strange to hear someone applogize to her. Slowly she looked back at the male with a slightly tilted head. Kalipso took in a deep breath taking in his scent as well as the sweet small of the ocean. It calmed down her down a little bit more allowing her to slolwy rise up. She still kept her head rather low and her ears were still pinned back agsint her head. But why was he being so nice? Had she really been that brain washed to not know who was freindly and who wasnt?

His voice was slightly hushed or at least it seemed like it, the tone of his voice didnt really match with the way the male looked. So maybe he was trying not to scare her any more then he already had, even tho it wasnt his fault. He spoke his name, it was merlin. She rather liked his name, it was different like hers. He also seemed to stumble slightly on his words. Maybe he was nervous or even didnt really speak to others very well. That was something that kali could relate to. She didnt speak to much to others, which made things very hard for her to get to know others. Her ears swilved around her head as she took in a deep breath as she heard him ask if she was alright. Slowly she nodded her head. "i......im....ok" her voice was no louder then a soft whisper as she looked down at the ground.

Momentarily the depths of those coral eyes bewitched like some foreign magic of the seas - he watched her attentively, pallid audits erect upon his helm. ” "i......im....ok" dainty chords vibrated in reply, falsetto tickling his attention. So soft and fragile she seemed, so much unlike the salted tides she had been bathing in, yet as quiet hung within the air betwixt their congregation he pondered further on her chronicles. So many questions danced upon the tip of his tongue, yet he bit them back as he examined the quivering reticence of the woman. Albeit inquisitive of the current situation he found himself in, his scrutiny was disrupted by the lingering ache in his belly that drove him to the edges of familiar landscapes.

The deep brine of his eyes lifted and rolled like unexplored depths beneath the canopy of obsidian lashes that brushed against the angular etches of his cheekbones - gaze swept over the injury of her forelimb and into the distance which he journeyed. Softly vagabond cleared his throat, hearty baritone lapping at the confines of his swarthy lips, ”I’m glad you’re okay miss… um.” Ears rotated upon his helm, unwilling to leave the injured woman but growing wearier by the moment. ”Would you be willing to accompany me to the valley for a small hunt?” Secretly, he wouldn’t feel right leaving her alone. The traveler would pull a singular paw away from the sandy shores beneath him as if beckoning the sea nymph to follow.

White audits flicked on her head as she looked at the male with scared eyes. Her entire body was still very close to the ground, but now she held up her paw slightly as she pushed herself up a little bit more. It was strange to be here alone and not have ody breathing down her back or even trying to chase away the other wolf. Tho it was nice sometimes specially when it came to the female that was called Nyla. At least he seemed like he cared that she was hurt, most would have just walked on and left her. Specailly since she always ended up balling herself up to try to protect herself. Rarely did it ever keep other away from her, most of the time they just approched her since she always dropped so fast to the ground. Kalipso took in a deep breath as she tried to take in as much of the male's scent as she could.

After all she wanted to remember his smell if she were to ever run into him again. But it was when he asked if she wanted to accompany him to the valley for a hunt. Letting out a whine she turned her head away from the male. She was a horrible hunter, the only thing she could ever catch was a rat or if she got lucky was a small rabbit. Ody had tried to teach her but it never sunk in for the female. She had barely picked up the tracking of anything, let alone trying to track and hunt something at the same time. "Not a very good hunter" her voice was once again very soft, almost to where you could barely hear it

"Not a very good hunter", she whined in hushed notes.

Motionless vagabond of the shores stood in that moment, coarse and salted haircoat ruffled by the cold ocean breeze that crept across the waves. Achromatic ears fluttered upon the curve of his skull, just barely capturing her timid reply. Scantily swarthy lips seemed to twitch, as if to pull into a smile yet it was snuffed from reaching the pallid mask of his features. Verdigris nostrils quivered and flattened with exhale as soft sigh escaped him, muffled by the chorus of the lapping tides. ”That’s okay... “ once more he fought away the urge to smile, drowning it beneath the depths, ”I’m not the best hunter either…”.

Seafoam eyes drifted across the expanse of the landscape he traversed and it’s barren beauty, beckoned by the lush woodland corridors just beyond the sand. ”My name is Merlin.” baritone reverberated his virile breast, a sullen echo like an ancient hymn of the seas - they had seemed to have skipped the formalities of their meeting. Softly he allowed his gaze to shift and linger upon the fair maiden, moving to step slowly away into the distance. ”Since I’m not the best at hunting myself… I hope you’ll help..” quietly he licked his lips, turning to slowly trot into the distance, stopping every few paces to cast a glance over his shoulder, wondering if she would follow or if their paths would one day cross again.

So he wasnt a good hunter either? Well at least that was something they had in common she thought as she still laid there on the ground just looking at the male. Ears flicked on her head as she watched him with careful eyes, he had spoken his name. Merlin. She would remember the male, and even more so his name since he had been kind to her. Something that she wasnt used to, she was sure that she would never become used to being treated with kindness. But maybe one day that would change. It was when the male began to slowly walk away but he seemed to turn back to invite her almost to join him in a hunt. Why would he want her to join him? Wouldnt two bad hunters end up tragic? As she laid there on the ground just watching the male walk away she watched as he would turn back to see if she was coming.

So he really did want her to come with him. Slowly she got to her feet and looked at the ocean for the moment. Part of her wanted to stay where she was but the other part of her wanted to join the male. Maybe she could learn how to be better, after all he seemed like he could at least keep himself well fed. Unlike herself, she was very small and you could see her ribs if you where to get close enough to her. Taking a deep breath she turned back to the way the male went. Her pace was slow but she kept him within eye sight, at least she could make sure she was going the right way this way. Now she would only hope that things wouldnt go horrible for her and that she could find a freind in the world that would show her things.
