It had been some time since she'd been brought here and left alone. Her parents were not especially fond of her for a number of reasons. For one, she was mundane among her siblings who were all magicka, a trait inherited from her father. For another, she was an albino which caused distress to those around her. Surely it was a bad sign to have a child so different than her siblings in both magic and coloring. It was just not natural.

It was one of the few kindnesses she was shown, not being killed on the spot. They at least allowed her the small amount of time she'd been alive to grow before they would bother with getting rid of her. Mother had taken only her on this special trip, making her feel obviously special for once. Surely it would have been one of her other siblings who got to go on their very first outing. Who'd have thought she would have been the first!

That had been at least two days ago now. She'd been told to wait there until mother came back. The girl had no choice but to believe her mother with pure faith. After all, she would not have lied to her. But, as hours stretched, hunger had gnawed at her until sleep had claimed her. It was so dreadfully boring and her stomach ached. With time she found herself stumbling around to explore. When loneliness was beginning to set in magnificent insects fluttered by, gathering near her to captivate her attention. Unaware of the influence of her power, she swatted at one of them clumsily, giggling when it fluttered up again before settling back down.

Dovain sighed as she stretched herself, leags fanning out behind and in front of her as her aged bones offered a few soft popping noises. Even though she felt as young as she once was, she wondered how long it would be before her body fully showed the wines of wear that the earth had given her. Rolling her shoulders to work out the stiffness she let her armor come back to her body, covering up the scarring that coated her body. Though she left her helmet and chainmail off, giving the thick mane of fur around her neck a breather for a change.

She slid her now finished weapon into its holster, the large duel ended curved blade was now complete, fully sharpened with floral designed expertly carved into the metal and leather-wrapped around the middle hilt. Though there was something that caught her eye as she gazed into the blade's reflection. Something small in the distance, curious, she turned her head and squinted to see the form of a little girl at first she thought nothing of it, watching for a little while to see when the darlings parents would come back and scoop her up, kiss her pink nose and tuck her into bed, but, the longer she watched, the more worry grew in her chest. The girl's movements were on the bridge of being sluggish. Not bouncing and a holder of restless energy like Arios and Nanna had been when they were that young.

Dovain's instincts took over and the mother was quick to change her pace as she trotted up the hill towards the little being, though once she was close enough she slowed to a gentle walk. "Hello sweetheart."  She cooed, a warm smile coming to her lips as she gazed down at the being with the kindness all mothers held with themselves for small children if they'd bore their own.  "Are you lost?" She asked, keeping her tone low and soft so the pup wouldn't scare. She knew that she could be intimidating at times, but it seemed that pups didn't see how much damage she could do, and chose to rather climb her tall frame. At least, that was her nephews first reaction.

Petal eyes were kept on the insects that had come to join her with as much concentration as her young mind could muster. There was no way she would notice anyone approached as she launched herself in to a game within her own small world. Rump wiggling, she'd prepare herself to the best of her ability before launching herself forward. In her mind it was a graceful feat, limbs reaching out before her to very nearly land on the insect with perfect precision. To anyone else they'd see a small child jumping clumsily in feeble attempt to catch the prey at hand, to no avail of course. As far as she was concerned, she was very cool indeed. She was positive she'd almost had it that time!

It was the voice of someone that stopped her imagination though and she turned to look with wide curious eyes at the stranger. She was... strange with very odd fur. It did not look like any fur she had seen before but perhaps that was normal around here. Not everyone looked the same she'd very quickly come to realize after comparing her pale complexion to that of the rest of her siblings. Oh, but a greeting was given to her. Even if her parents had neglected to teach her much of anything, she'd at least picked up the habit of answering when spoken to. "Ahh, h-hello."

Casting only one last wistful look at the butterflies, she let her attention then be claimed by this adult, head tilting slightly as a question was given to her to mull around. Lost? For the first time in a bit she finally looked around, realizing she had not listened to what mama had said about staying put. Oh no, she'd wandered away from where she'd been left when she had given chase to the butterflies. "Oh..." How would mama ever be able to find her now? Tears began to well up in her eyes before spilling over to stain ivory cheeks. "Aella is a b-bad girl. Now mama w-won't come back." And with that her crying turned in to whining sobs of desperation, not really giving a solid answer to the question but leaving enough implied.

The pup was so, so small. Barely comparing in size to Dovain's paw, at least that was how it felt for the mammoth of a woman to view such a small being. She wondered if she was even old enough to speak, though she was quickly proven wrong when the girl offered her a hello. Dove slowly let her weapons and armor float down to the ground so she could prove she was no harm to this babe, lowering herself to lay down so she wasn't so hunched above her. As she questioned if the girl was lost, it resulted in something she hadn't quite expected, tears began to build in the little one's eyes as she released cries that broke the mother's heart.

"Aella is a b-bad girl. Now mama w-won't come back."

"Oh hun."  She murmured, reaching out to place her paw against the girl's side. "Hey hey no need to cry, from what I can see your a very good girl."  She shushed, crawling forward a little so she could gently pull the girl against her chest as she spoke, though she left enough room for her to wriggle away if she wanted to. Dove wondered what parent would leave their daughter out alone, especially in a landscape like this, so many things could harm a being so small. Anger began to rise in her throat but she muffled it for now. Instead choosing to focus on the little girl she'd cradled against her chest.

"You say your name is Aella? Thats a pretty name."  She complimented. Leaning back a little so that she could see the little girl. "My name is Dovain."  She introduced, leaning down she wiped the little girl's cheeks, hoping to clear her tears for a little while. "I can help you look for your mama if you'd like."  She offered, giving the little one a warm smile. It was almost comical how small the babe was in comparison to the woman, almost disappearing in the thick fur of her neck.

Tears continued to stain her cheeks as she sobbed, thoughts consumed by the idea that she had disobeyed her mother by leaving the spot she'd been instructed to stay in. Why did she let herself get distracted? Sure she was hungry and lonely and oh so bored but that was no excuse for what she had done. Now she would be even lonelier and probably never see her parents or siblings again. She seemed to almost forget all about the massive adult who was there with her until she murmured a few words before pulling her closer, catching her a bit off guard.

Pausing with tears in her eyes, she stared up at the woman who had lost the strange shiny fur. It was now laying on the ground around her. The woman was nice and only said that she seemed like a good girl despite what the pup really knew. Sniffling, the albino girl could only manage a small shake of her head, looking downcast. "B-but... Mama told Aella to wait for her. But the butterflies wanted to play. Dunno if butterflies taste good but was hungry." As if to emphasize the fact, her stomach growled in complaint.

Other words were spoken, repeating he name which caused her ears to flick before a name was given in return. "Dovain?" Leaning against the fluff of her chest and neck, Aella had not realized how tired she was. This felt awfully nice. She could close her eyes and just... Shaking her head vigorously then, she blinked back up in confusion in time to hear something about her mama. Oh? "You'll help me?" Oh that would be nice. This lady was nice, nicer than either of her parents were sometimes. Her tail wagged in response. "Oh yes!" Pressing herself in to the fluff, she gave a small snuggle, the abandoned armor catching her eye again. "I like your fur." Blinking towards it, she was curious how it worked. Could she take her fur off like that too some time? But this lady had fur under that even from what she could see. How did that work?

Dove "B-but... Mama told Aella to wait for her. But the butterflies wanted to play. Dunno if butterflies taste good but was hungry."

Dove's heart broke for the child, how a mother could leave a child alone at such a young age for so long. Hungry no less, she held the pup close to her still. Looking around every few moments trying to catch a possible glimpse of the mother while the pup cuddled into her, she nodded as the little one spoke her name, a smile starting to form at the ends of her lips when the girl got excited about the possibility of Dove helping her look. Her heart warmed as the young girl cuddled into her fur, the little yawns and the rubble of a small belly against her made her want nothing more than to take this girl home and feed her and give her a nice place to sleep.

 "I like your fur."

Dove followed the girl's eye to her abandoned armor and gave a soft chuckle and a small shake of her head.  "Oh no dear, that's not fur. That is called armor, it protects me. So do these blades, I can control them." She focused on one of her daggers for a moment so the tool lifted into the air, glittering in the sunlight. "See?"  She lowered the weapon then, looking back down at the girl cradled against her, then back to the setting sun with a soft sigh."Well, we won't do her any good with you hungry and sleepy. Why don't we get you something to eat, and you sleep with me in my camp, and we look in the morning?"   She murmured, "Does that sound okay?"  At this she looked the little girl in the eye, wondering how something could be so small.
