Seeking answers

As exhausted as he had been, they needed answers as to where it was they had found themselves. He'd allowed himself only the bare minimum amount of rest with Nienn before it was time to get to business. Though she pleaded with him to give it more time, he could not allow that to pass. He could not help but be concerned about what they were going to do from here on out. Who knew what the locals of these lands were like. He was not so much concerned for himself as he was for her well being. Inan had always been a bit reckless but he could not help but want to take precautions when it came to her.

It was a slow process but his strength was beginning to return. It was true that he felt different here. Though he reached for his magical pool, things certainly seemed off in a way he had no explanations to. His shadows responded as they had since his birth, eager to please their master as they would dance around him sporadically. But some of his other gifts were faced with a static silence, as if they'd never been truly his to control at all. Was this normal?

Frustration both over his lack of answers and magic, he had taken to moving. He did not want to leave Nienn by herself but he knew it might prove to be dangerous should he take her with him. This was something he needed to do on his own first. Ears flicked as nostrils flared, taking in the foreign scents as he searched for any who might be nearby. Though he would rather not, the fastest and easiest way to get information was to find someone and hope they were familiar with these lands. He was not sure how many answers he could get out of them but he could only hope they were not hostile.

Zendelrin Ragnulf;

Tawny limbs pulled the heavy figure of the reaper within the confines of the Giants forest. Standing tall where the sentries of time as their reaching arms caught the falling rays of the smiling sun. Alas, their protective reach was unsuccessful in containing all the kissing rays. Soft pools of light did illuminate the forest floors and with them the hum of her celestial power would radiate from those pools. He could feel the hum of the energy beneath the grounds and his shadows seemed to purr around his limbs.

It had been weeks since the demise of his former lover. The trophy that he had acquired was safely secured in a secretive location. However, he missed the feel of it lodges within his jaws. That need to feel the blood slip free from the veins of those he called victim did whisper in the distance of his mind. It was a craving that was difficult to ignore but he had years to perfect the illusion of cool and controlled. He needed a distraction from the fever of his hunger.

It was as if his shadows had understood their master’s need and whispered of another that seemed to occupy the same grounds. One solitary audit did twitched at their words. He pulled his head towards the heavens and pulled in the aromas around him. Indeed they were correct. The masculine aroma of a stranger did cross his nostrils. Curiosity got the better of him as he followed the aroma to the source of its belonging.

Soon enough the image of a dark man came into view. His smoldering amber eyes did fall on the shadows that coiled around the stranger’s limbs. So, they were of the same Magicka cloth. Those that belonged to the ram affinity did not always hold the power to control the shadows, or rather, a mutual exchange such as he had with his own. The darker part of him that could not help but analyze any male as a potential victim did fall beneath the surface and dismissed the man as potential prey.

His shadows swirled around his limbs curiously as he approached the man. He allowed a generous amount of distance between them. It was a subtle sign of respecting personal space as he offered a small bow in greeting. His front limb had swept to the side as his gaze shifted towards that of the stranger and he offered him a coy smile. “Good day, It would seem that the raven has found the crow.” He said, his voice as sooth as melted chocolate. His tail flicked as his shadows hissed and clung to his limbs protectively and yet slightly curious to reach for the others.

Black eyes narrowing a bit, he looking through the grove of huge trees. They were taller than any he had ever seen before but did not grow with enough branches to completely block out the sunlight that filtered through. He would have preferred traveling at night though he knew it would have been harder to do so. He did not want to leave Nienn alone at night while she slept. Who knew what kind of creatures crept about during the sleeping hours that would find an easy meal in an unsuspecting woman. Of course he was definitely not giving her enough credit. She could handle herself well enough without him though it was the possessive beast that existed inside of him that insisted he be the one that was there.

In his thought, he seemed to miss the signs of another approaching at first until a soft hissing seemed to rise up from his shadows, responding to something that pulled a flick from his ear. Nostrils flaring, it was only then that the scent of another would reach him and he felt his muscles tense slightly in apprehension. Obsidian claws digging in to the earth, he released a breath that took away the tension with it, willing himself to be calm until the same air of nonchalance was around him once again.

Waiting, it did not take long for the stranger man to come in to view. He was larger than himself though not terribly so he supposed. It was nothing to get too concerned with, especially when he did not know this man's intentions. Inan took note of the shadows that clung to his legs, giving away his powers. The same as him then. That should prove to be... interesting. Only an ear flicked when words were spoken to him and a brow raised a bit in inquiry. "Does that make you the raven or the crow then?" An innocent enough question thrown back in response in an almost joking manner. But a small bow was given back, returning the respect that was given first. Perhaps this meeting wouldn't turn out too bad. "Forgive me, these lands are not entirely known to me. Would you happen to know where we are?"
